A Bend man was arrested last week on suspicion of downloading online child pornography, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.

Gary Lee Hewitt, 45, was arrested Jan. 6 following a search of his residence on Southeast Bear Creek Road.

Hewitt is being held at the Deschutes County Jail on four counts of first-degree encouraging child sexual abuse and four counts of second-degree encouraging child sex abuse.

His bail is set at $150,000.
