Cannon Beach Dining

Dining Out in Cannon Beach

Cannon Beach restaurants offer a delicious variety for any time of day. If you’re not sure where to start, just take a stroll along Hemlock Street downtown; the street is lined with all sorts of restaurant offerings, but don’t hesitate to look along the side streets as well. You’ll be tempted by coffee shops, bakeries, cafes, pubs, breweries, seafood dives, a smokehouse, and even a crêperie. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite between activities or lingering over a romantic dinner and wine, you’ll find the perfect Cannon Beach restaurant. Best of all, in Cannon Beach, you have the opportunity to enjoy oceanfront dining with a view of Haystack Rock. This is especially nice in winter if you want to do a little storm watching while enjoying a hot bowl of chowder. If you’re visiting during the summer season, call ahead and ask about reservations. In winter, call ahead and make sure the establishment you want to visit is open in the off season. And since this is the beach, know that dress is typically casual in Cannon Beach restaurants.

Fresh and Local by the Sea

Locally sourced Pacific Northwest cuisine is alive and well in Cannon Beach. Many local chefs are committed to utilizing ingredients that were caught or grown locally and regionally, so in many restaurants, you will be eating the freshest seafood, meats, and produce available. Keep in mind that local sourcing also means that chefs serve what’s in season, so try not to be disappointed if the seafood that you’re craving is not on the menu because it’s not in season; allow your server to make another suggestion. Local seafood includes Dungeness crab, clams, salmon, tuna, halibut, cod, snapper, oysters, bay shrimp, and more. Other not-to-miss Oregon foods include berries, mushrooms, hazelnuts, and truffles – and, of course, you have to try the local beer, wine, and spirits.
