Good Shepherd Orthopedics expands in new location

HERMISTON — Good Shepherd Orthopedics has moved to a larger location.
Good Shepherd Health Care System on Feb. 5 in a press release announced its orthopedics department has relocated to 1122 W. Elm Ave. in Hermiston.
At more than 13,000 square feet, the new site more than doubles the exam room, procedure room and on-site radiology capacity. The new space also provides the added convenience of closer parking and main floor accessibility for patients. Since its purchase in July 2024, the building has undergone significant renovations to enhance the patient experience and provide state-of-the-art care.
“Our new space allows us to continue expanding our team of skilled surgeons and specialists, ensuring that we can meet the growing orthopedic needs of the region,” GSHCS President and CEO Art Mathisen said in the press release.
Seven physicians at Good Shepherd Orthopedics provide a variety of the most advanced orthopedic treatments, according to the press release, including Mako robotic surgical intervention, joint replacements, sports medicine, arthroscopy, foot and ankle care, and hand surgery.
Drs. Patrick Dawson (orthopedic surgeon), Kyle Duncan (podiatrist), Trey Rigert (physiatrist), Tamara Simpson (orthopedic surgeon), Matthew Thompson (orthopedic surgeon), James Whittum (orthopedic surgeon) and Zhiqing Xing (orthopedic surgeon) are taking new patients.
