PENDLETON — The United States Postal Service will host a job fair Friday, Feb. 14, and Saturday, Feb. 15, at the post office building in downtown Pendleton.

USPS personnel will be available both days to provide information on open positions, answer questions about employment and walk candidates through the application process. The job fair will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 14 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 15.

New employees start at $19-20 per hour, depending on the position. USPS employees are paid biweekly and receive benefits, including regular pay increases, paid leave and health insurance.

The Pendleton job fair will look to fill immediate openings for letter carriers and rural carriers. Positions as mail handlers, retail associates, drivers and maintenance technicians also may be available in some areas.

To achieve financial stability and service excellence, the press release said, the USPS wants to stabilize its workforce to ensure consistent service to 169 million addresses across the country as part of its 10-year Delivering for America plan.

Those unable to attend the job fair event can apply for available positions at www.usps.com/careers. Jobs are uploaded every other Tuesday until filled, and postings are updated frequently, so check back often for additional opportunities. Potential applicants can also visit any Post Office location for more information.
