JOSEPH — National Women’s History Month (March) celebrations continue in Wallowa County with an evening of storytelling through music and words.

The annual “Women, Words & Music” event takes place Friday, March 21, at 7 p.m. at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture, 403 N. Main St., in partnership with the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance. Admission is $10.

The evening’s program will continue the theme of the Josephy Center’s 2025 Women’s Art Exhibition, “Horizon Lines,” with local women sharing their musical and spoken word talents.

The audience will be treated to an evening of storytelling reflecting the visions of these local artists:

Amy Fairchild: Accomplished composer, pianist, recording artist and director/composer of children’s musicals.

Jezebel’s Mother: The celebrated musical duo of Janis Carper and Carolyn Lochert, known for their “bluesy-rootsy-lively-lovely” original songs and wonderfully woven harmonies.

Kathleen (Kat) Johnson: From the Rockies to the Atlantic and now the Pacific Northwest, Johnson is now enjoying retirement and rediscovering the joy of diving in and playing with words.

Tayler Riepe: She’s putting her English degree to good use by sharing stories that are important to her. Raised in Alaska, she is now a mom on an in-town farmette in Wallowa County.

Terri Hall: Singer-songwriter and Americana recording artist in her sophomore year in Wallowa County, she aims to entertain and inspire.
