Hermiston’s monthly Red Cross Blood drive took place Dec. 20 at Good Shepherd Medical Center. The goal for the month of December was 45 units, and 37 units were collected out of 74 appointments.
Organizers said the highlight for the drive was the 44 donors who braved the icy roads to donate. There is always a higher need for blood during the holidays, they said, so these dedicated donors were very much appreciated.
The canteen was furnished by the Eagles. The next drive will be held Jan. 17 at Good Shepherd Medical Center. The Hermiston drives have been rescheduled to the third Monday of each month.
